If you will be flying in to join us for our wedding, we suggest flying into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or Bob Hope Airport (BUR). Travel time to the Westlake Village Inn is approximately one hour from either airport.
From LAX, take Interstate 405 North and transition onto US Highway 101 North. Take Exit 39 and turn left on Lindero Canyon Road. Take the first right on Agoura Road and the Westlake Village Inn will be approximately one mile ahead on the right.
From Bob Hop, take US Highway 134 West and transition onto US Highway 101 North. Take Exit 39 and turn left on Lindero Canyon Road. Take the first right on Agoura Road and the Westlake Village Inn will be approximately one mile ahead on the right.
We have a room block at the Westlake Village Inn - the site of our wedding.
As you all know, Piper is my incredible sister. Although Piper is younger than me, I've always looked up to her - she's confident, beautiful, intelligent, compassionate, hard working, and fashionable! I'm slowly convincing her to move back to California but she is currently living the big city life in New York City as a therapist for girls with depression and eating disorders. I couldn't imagine getting married without this one as my Maid of Honor. She cannot wait to help plan the wedding festivities with all of you - particularly the Bachelorette!
Shannon was my very first friend at UCLA. We met during orientation and quickly became inseparable - even making sure we joined the same sorority together, Alpha Phi. Before dating Jer, I often third-wheeled Shannon and her husband Michael - going to their place regularly for a home cooked meal. Shannon is kind, generous, artistic, and the life of any party! She is currently working as an Instructional Coach for a school district in Newport Beach, California.
Kate is another one of my college sorority sisters! Kate was the Alpha Phi President while I was Vice President. She is my "twin" - with blonde hair. Fun Fact: Kate and I were roommates when she met her now husband David. Kate is someone everyone looks up to! So polished but one of the biggest sweethearts you will ever meet. Kate and David live in San Francisco, California where Kate works for Omada Health.
The final Alpha Phi girl on the bridesmaid list, Ilysa transferred to UCLA from the University of Arizona and we quickly connected. One of the sweetest and most outgoing girls, we lived together for the year and a half before Ilysa became Mrs. Smock! I also lived with Ilysa when Jer and I first started dating. I even invited Ilysa to tag along on our first date - since I didn't know Jer had actually asked me out! Ilysa, her husband Matt, and newborn baby Luke (who just turned 3 months old) live in Irvine, California!
Emily is the first of my Pepperdine crew - we met during law school orientation. We both went to UCLA but didn't meet until law school. I do not think I would get through the stress of being an attorney without texting Emily each and every day! She keeps me sane. She also motivates me to try to be one quarter of the athlete she is! Emily lives in Hermosa Beach, California and works as an attorney at Manning & Kass in Los Angeles.
My brilliant friend Nicole is one of the most adventurous girls that I know. She and I met while studying abroad in law school. I was studying international law with Pepperdine's London Program while Nicole was spending a semester at the United Nations in Switzerland. We quickly became inseparable travel buddies, spending every weekend meeting up and exploring Europe. In fact, Nicole is still there! She lives and practices law in Paris. I miss Nicole dearly and can't wait to have her back in the States for all of the wedding festivities.
Remy is another one of my brilliant law school friends and my second roommate on this list. I lived with Remy during the year before she became Mrs. Gough! Remy is the absolute sweetest, most caring person you'll ever meet. I often refer to Remy and her husband Travis as the two big siblings I never had - always watching out for me. She, Travis and their baby boy Griffin (almost 8 months old!) live in Carlsbad, California.
Karah is my current roommate! As you can tell, I've been lucky to have some of the very best roommates in the entire world. Karah and I actually met through bridesmaid Nicole - with Karah being one of Nicole's best friends from high school! Karah came into my life at the perfect time when both of us were looking for roommates and things could not have worked out any better. Karah is one of the kindest, most genuine girls I know and my cooking and workout partner-in-crime! She works as a first grade teacher at a Catholic school in downtown Los Angeles! Those kiddos could not have a better teacher than Karah.
Last, but certainly not least, Jer's sister, Ann! I admire Ann in every way: establishing a life in Florida; completing a master's and eyeing Ph.D. programs; working as a therapist and a professor; and, being an incredible mom to her two-year old daughter, Hadley. I'm very excited to be able to claim her as my sister in just a few short months! Fun fact: Ann's husband, James, is one of Jer's groomsmen and Hadley is our adorable flower girl!
Our ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. followed by a cocktail hour and reception on site!
Both of us are so blessed to have been given the most incredible families.
We would never have made it here today without the love, support, and guidance shown to us by our families. They have provided us with the foundation to begin our life together and taught us the importance of love and friendship. So as we start our life together, we would like to say a special thank you to our parents and to our sibilings. To our parents, thank you for providing us with two unbelievable examples of marriage. We hope to emulate the unwaivering support you provide to each other and to your children. To our siblings, thank you for being our best friends. We love and admire each of you more than we can convey.
We are so thankful for you all and love you all dearly!
I proposed to Jenn on November 26, 2016.
As many of you know, this surprise was several months in the making. However, the day of the event I awoke to storm clouds and heavy rains (in the midst of California's record drought). I spent most of the day anxiously looking out the window - and occasionally stealing a glance at the ring to make sure it was still safe in its hiding spot. With no Plan B, we braved the rain for a late afternoon trip to Pepperdine University's Malibu campus for a sunset stroll at the scenic Alumni Park.
I had photographers waiting. With 30 minutes to go, the sky cleared overhead and I knew we were in for a dynamic sunset. I always tell Jenn that she is the rainbow in my life - and a rainbow appeared just in time for the proposal. Best of all, Jenn agreed to marry me!
Jer: In law school, Jenn was a pretty face I recognized from a distance. We had several friends in common but never so much as spoke to one another. Several years after law school, I got an opportunity at Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman, LLP. Providentially, my office was just down the hall from Jenn's and our friendship started to develop. I quickly came to admire Jenn's intelligence and compassion, and came to appreciate her love for her family and friends. When I finally asked her out, I knew she was something special. I quickly concluded she was the one for me.
A Midwesterner at heart, I grew up in Owatonna, Minnesota. I have two brilliant brothers, Tom (the artist) and Jonathan (the intellectual), a sunshine sister, Ann (the world-changer), and two very patient parents, Jay and Lois.
I completed bachelor's degrees in business administration and marketing at Carthage College and spent several years working in organizational development on the north side of Chicago and in downtown Milwaukee. I also spent six months directing (i.e., eating, sleeping, and breathing) a consulting project at Shishu Niloy Foundation in Jessore, Bangladesh. Upon my return to the United States, I enrolled at Pepperdine University where I completed a master's of business administration and juris doctor. I now practice as a civil defense attorney here in Los Angeles.
To Jenn, I am so excited to partner with you for life! You're absolutely wonderful in everyway - a true, life-saving counterpart. Thank you for loving me.
I am a California girl born and raised. I grew up in Oak Park, California with my mom, Debbie, dad, Phil, and younger sister, Piper, and could not have asked for a better childhood.
I attended La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks, California before embarking on my college adventure at UCLA! After attending college, I attended Pepperdine Law School. I am now practicing employment law in Los Angeles. I am so thankful to have made lifelong friends at each step of my journey and can't wait to celebrate our wedding with my Regents, my Alpha Phi sisters, and my law school friends! You have all filled my life with so many memories and I am a richer person as a result of our friendships.
To Jer, you are everything I had ever hoped for and the one I thought existed only in my imagination. Thank you for your steadfast love! I can't wait to embark on our next journey together as we become husband and wife.
